Do You Want To Enjoy Yummy Pizza Lakeside?

During the first three years hosting guests at Wolf Cove Inn, our romantic bed and breakfast in Maine, we noticed two things. First, folks didn’t want to leave to go out to dinner. I get that. Why would anyone want to miss our spectacular sunsets? Second, those who opted to stay for sunset were more often than not enjoying pizza lakeside.

The Journey to the Best Pizza in Maine

Back in May of 2016, we dipped our toe in the evening dining scene by offering the Ultimate Romance Dinner for those getting married or honeymooning at the Inn. Then in the fall as cooler weather began setting in, we started our lite dining program by offering our Griddle & Crock dinner. Homemade soup and a freshly made panini sandwich seemed like a great idea for the upcoming fall and winter months.

Then April rolled around. Sue and I were thinking soup and a sandwich didn’t seem appropriate for the upcoming summer months. Furthermore, we remembered how often guests brought back a pizza from a local pizzeria to enjoy by the lake with breathtaking sunset views. That thinking begat Tripp Lake Pizzeria.

And that, my friends, is the rest of the story.

The Best Pizza in Maine

Tell Me About The Best Pizza In Maine

The recipe for the best pizza in Maine has an emphasis is on local ingredients and is always created with that fresh, homemade touch. Your dinner for two consists of salad, pizza, and dessert.

A specialty homemade dressing tops your freshly made salad. Then choose the currently featured, limited-time specialty pizza, or build your own! An example of one of our past limited-time specialty pizzas was Prosciutto & Arugula that featured a balsamic garlic and onion jam in lieu of sauce, tart green apple, shaved red onion, feta and mozzarella cheese, all topped with prosciutto and arugula. Yummo! Who knows what the future brings other than it will be good.

Or you can build your own pizza from the following toppings:

  • Sauce – marinara or basil pesto
  • Veggies – onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomato, arugula, spinach
  • Meat – pepperoni, sausage, bacon (all from A Wee Bit Farm in Orland, Maine)
  • Cheese – mozzarella, cheddar, goat, feta

You’ll finish things off with our homemade dessert. One day it’s brownies, another it could be snickerdoodles or chocolate-raisin-oatmeal cookies. Or it could be whoopie pies. You never know what the pizza crew will come up with next.

All this great stuff is just $39/couple. Want a second pizza pie? It’s an extra $19. We’ll kick in a third salad if you’d like as well.

Tripp Lake Pizza is available daily from 6:00-7:30pm. Since we are a small inn and only offer this service for guests, we do ask that you let us know if and when you’ll be dining with us by 5PM. That way we can plan accordingly and provide the very best service – and pizza of course!
