Can You See A Moose At Maine Wildlife Park?

It’s funny. So many folks visiting Wolf Cove Inn, a bed and breakfast in Maine, ask “where can I see a moose?” I tell them about “Moose Alley” between Rangeley and Stratton. However, that’s a two-hour drive, though it is one of our favorite day trips in Maine. “Rather than that”, I tell them, “head to Maine Wildlife Park. Moose sighting guaranteed!” Furthermore, it’s only 20 minutes from the Wolf Cove Inn in nearby Gray, Maine. Book your stay at Wolf Cove Inn today to see a moose in Maine.

You Will See A Moose At The Park

Maine Wildlife Park

First of all, Maine Wildlife Park is not a zoo. Rather than like a typical zoo, injured, orphaned or human-dependant native animals find sanctuary at the park. Moose, bear, birds – even skunks – that likely wouldn’t survive in the wild inhabit the park. In total, over 30 species of native Maine wildlife call the park home.

What You’ll Find At Maine Wildlife Park

The park is structured into about a dozen separate wildlife areas (map of park). Furthermore, a network of walkways containing educational material about the wildlife and their habitat connects the areas. Plenty of paved roads and trails make the park wheelchair accessible too. Walking the entire park covers about 1 2/3 miles.
