Mac’s Grill

Insider Tip: Ask for the rub and sauce sampler. You can try them out before deciding what to put on your steak.

If you want a really good steak, Mac’s Grill is the place to go. Mac’s has been the finest steakhouse in the Auburn area for 20+ years. Mac’s offers couples and family seating, and a bar area with lots of TVs. You’ll find a terrific selection of local, craft beers that offers something different every time we go.

Mac’s does not accept reservations.

Yolked Farm-to-Table

Insider Tip: Although the menu changes seasonally, a must-try from their summer menu is the lobster bisque, rich and full of flavor, along with the perfectly cooked Pineland Farms Filet, a true testament to the quality of local produce.

Located in the heart of Windham, Yolked Farm-to-Table offers a delightful dining experience that emphasizes fresh, locally sourced ingredients straight from nearby farms. Once a Food Truck, this newly running restaurant has cozy, rustic, and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a meal that tastes as if it was harvested just for you. Every dish served at Yolked is a celebration of the region’s abundant agriculture and culinary craftsmanship. Their cocktails are also delicious!

This has quickly become Geoff & Nicole’s favorite go-to dinner night spot!

Fish Bones American Grill fuses American cuisine with multi-national flair. They source local seafood, meat and produce, turning it into wonderful appetizers and entrées. Set in a restored mill building, the place has great ambiance and energy. The menu changes seasonally.

Oxbow Beer Garden

Insider Tip: The kale Caesar salad is excellent.

You can get some of the best beer in Maine at Oxbow Beer Garden. It is a combination small touring center and brew pub. It has a really terrific vibe. On winter weekends, snow shoe or cross-country ski (rentals available) on the small network, then settle under an outdoor, heated A-frame or around the fire pits and enjoy pizza and suds (tons of options).

Dolce Amici

Insider Tip: The Dolma Plate appetizer is awesome.

Dolce Amici is a fun little place right in downtown Norway. The colorful umbrella covered courtyard is a great al fresco option in seasonable weather.

Insider Tip: While we go for the French cuisine, the locals rave about the New England Pot Roast dinner.

At Maurice Restaurant Francais you’ll find classic French dishes along with Maine comfort food. They also have an extensive wine list covering all regions, but with plenty of French wine offerings.

Insider Tip: The fried haddock sandwich with special sauce and Vietnamese slaw is outstanding.

X-Vault Pub & Provisions sits inside a former bank, with the bank’s vault as a centerpiece behind the polished wood bar. Sushi, ramen, quesadillas with a Korean twist, dishes with Vietnamese touches and wings with flat out hot sauce are some of the menu items.

DaVinci’s Eatery

Insider Tip: Try to get a table at the bar in the back.  That way you can check out the collection of Vespa scooters and antique bicycles.

Davinci’s Italian Eatery offers extensive classic Italian dining options. Fresh soups, garlic knots (a signature item), brick oven pizzas and Italian specialty dishes round out the menu. Located in the historic Bates Mills Complex, the restaurant has beautiful brick and wood throughout, with high, industrial ceilings. There is a great vibe.

Nonesuch River Brewing

Ox Pub is located in the Oxford Casino complex. It has a relaxing vibe and nice variety of food. Lest you are worried about the casino, Ox Pub is separate. You don’t really notice the casino and everything is smoke-free.

New to the area restaurant scene, Beacon Bar and Bistro you can get what everyone wants in Maine – Lobstah in multiple forms. They also have options for those who don’t partake of seafood.

For a quintessential, family-owned clam and lobster shack experience, try The Lost Gull just down the road. They emphasize the use of local Maine products in all their food. If they can get the ingredient in Maine, they do. In addition to your typical, lobster and clam shack, they also serve daily changing specialty seafood sandwiches and plates. Authentic they are. At The Lost Gull, there’ll be no lettuce or sweet corn relish on your lobster roll.

Orchid features Japanese and Asian Fusion cuisine as well as Thai and Vietnamese dishes. They also have a great local, craft beer menu and an extensive offering of Sake. The atmosphere is eclectic, especially with the J and K-pop showing on a TV screen.
