As the calendar turns to late spring, Maine strawberries begin ripening on the vine. Those yummy little morsels make their way into all kinds of dishes including strawberry-rhubarb pies, fruit bowls, toppings for pancakes and dipped in chocolate. Better yet, just eat them plain, or stick them in a bowl with a splash of milk or lite cream and feel the sunshine spreading through you.

THE WOLF COVE INN
The lakefront Wolf Cove Inn, a bed and breakfast in Maine, makes a great home base for exploring 6 nearby Maine strawberry farms. Many of these farms give you a “pick your own” option. They also provide the option of buying pre-harvested treats at their farm stands.
As with any “pick your own” activity we recommend calling the farm ahead of time to verify quality and availability of the strawberries. Most farms request you do this to ensure you’ll have a good experience.
6 Authentic Maine Strawberries Farms
Maine strawberries are some of the sweetest, most delicious strawberries you’ll ever taste. But you have to get them while the getting is good. Maine strawberry season runs from mid-June until early-July (check with the farm stand). As such, I recommend you don’t fiddle or diddle while everyone else is out there getting the goods.
These six farms will help you get your Maine strawberries fix. Some have “pick your own” options. Distances and times listed are from the Wolf Cove Inn at 5 Jordan Shore Drive in Poland, Maine.

We Love Maine Strawberries At Wolf Cove Inn
During fresh Maine strawberry season, at Wolf Cove Inn we very often serve up those delightful treats with your complimentary breakfast. Pretty much everyday they’ll adorn the breakfast plate. Furthermore, you’ll often find our own Roasted Strawberries atop your delicious, made from scratch buttermilk pancakes. I love the way the strawberry juices run down the sides of those pancakes. We’ll also be happy to make up a batch of chocolate covered Maine strawberries for those feeling especially indulgent. Our pizzeria dinner dessert will often feature strawberry shortcake sporting “the goods.”
While at Wolf Cove Inn, you’ll enjoy our lakeside beauty. Our Maine B&B offers 11 guest rooms and a cabin. Many rooms offer spa tubs and fireplaces. Get out on the lake with our complimentary kayaks and canoes. Pull up an Adirondack chair with someone special and marvel at the spectacular sunsets over the western shore of Tripp Lake. Or toss some logs on the fire pit and roast up some gourmet style 1927 S’mores Kits while taking in sunset.
So don’t wait. Make your plans to visit during strawberry season and have yourself a romantic getaway in Maine at the Wolf Cove Inn.
