A lakeside bar experience shaped by season, setting, and connection

The Den at Wolf Cove Inn is an intimate, elevated cocktail experience designed to bring people together — a place where conversation flows easily, moments linger a little longer, and the beauty of Maine is felt in every season.

At its heart, The Den is a communal space. Guests gather here to connect over thoughtfully crafted cocktails made with the highest-quality ingredients, sourcing locally whenever possible. It’s equally suited for a romantic nightcap, a celebratory toast, or a meaningful pause in the evening — whether you’re staying the weekend or marking one of life’s biggest milestones.

Our cocktail program is intentionally seasonal and ever-evolving, allowing our team to highlight fresh flavors, local spirits, and creative techniques throughout the year. One signature you may encounter is The Fog Light, a dramatic smoked cocktail served tableside in a lantern — a nod to Maine’s moody coastline and a guest favorite for both its flavor and theatrics.

An Experience Shaped by the Seasons

In the warmer months, The Den flows seamlessly into the outdoors. You’re just steps away from carrying your cocktail down to the water’s edge, settling in to watch the sunset over the lake, or savoring a drink with your loved one as the light fades across the cove.

As the seasons turn, The Den invites you to slow down — from sipping a Leaf Peeper–inspired cocktail as autumn colors ripple across the lake, to warming up in winter with Cousin Eddie’s Eggnog or mulled wine while snow falls softly beyond the windows."

A Space That Brings the Outdoors In

The Den was thoughtfully designed to mirror the landscape that surrounds it. Even with your back turned to the lake, you’re never far from it — antiqued mirror tile along the back bar reflects the water and light, subtly keeping the outdoors present in every seat.

This intentional design creates a sense of immersion, where nature and interior blend seamlessly, and the lake remains part of the experience no matter where you’re sitting.

Elevated, Yet Approachable

Whether enjoyed as a romantic setting for couples, a gathering place for friends, or an elevated option for wedding couples and their guests on the big day, The Den offers a refined but welcoming atmosphere — one that feels special without ever feeling formal.

Design & Local Partnerships

The Den was designed in collaboration with Diana Friedlund of Coastal Construction & Design, with the bar itself crafted from reclaimed Maine barn wood dating back over 200 years. The wood was thoughtfully sourced through Steve Smith of Renaissance Timber, preserving the character and history of Maine craftsmanship while giving new life to these materials.

Lush greenery by Chevaughn Marie Designs completes the space, reinforcing the natural textures and forested feel that define Wolf Cove Inn and seamlessly bringing the outdoors in.
